My middle daughter was recently diagnosed with Alopecia Areata as her head has a large bald spot in the back of and around her left ear. I’m researching like mad to help her figure out how to grow her hair back (and prevent it from falling out anymore) and to help prevent future attacks. Her doctor presented this as an autoimmune disease from which her body is attacking its own hair follicles. This is crazy to me and we’re still digesting all the information. We’ve definitely had a stressful year which probably kicked her body to start rebelling (Covid, ankle fractures, not seeing her friends, moving, starting her period) and not to mention that her dad and granddad have autoimmune issues too.

Stay tuned to see how we tackle this issue and what we are doing to keep her healthy and happy with a full head of hair :)
